Welcome back, everyone! As you can see, Chaos City has had a serious face lift. This is to give the site a fresh feeling as it slowly comes back from the dead. I set this as the default skin so everyone SHOULD be on default. If the site looks screwed up, you're not on the right one. I left the old ones in tact just in case this one hurt anyone's eyes (mine...). But understand that the other skins won't look right at all because the coding wasn't made for them. End of story. Anyway, welcome (back) to CC2.
Now get posting.

Sonic the Hedgehog, and all characters and ideas under the title belong to Sega. This particular forum and all of its contents belong to the members of the site, but mainly the admin. The layout was done by Pyran, but most of the graphics and coding used were provided by the members of Deviantart and Proboards Support who make it their business to provide such things, so long as we give a little credit. So, without further ado, I'd like to thank the following: Animus, ross, hpmad, EtonBones, Eichi, california, Wrighty, Spazz24 and Princess-of-Shadows from DeviantArt, and a huge, resounding thanks to Smangii for providing the code to make this forum not look like crap.

"Oh, we'll put it all back together when we're done with it," Cascade said, waving the concerns away with one hand. "So long as it doesn't collapse, I can mostly fix it all." He didn't like cleaning up after himself, but he'd tell this bee he would.
His eyes followed Charmy's flight, craning his head back and stretching out his torso at the same time, then stretching his arms in preparation. "My obstacles. I make stuff fly out at you. It's fun. You just have to dodge!"

Frowning, Charmy whipped around to face Cascade. "Nuh-uh, 'cause if you throw things at me, it's not fair. 'sides, if you do that, I'll really be in trouble." He flew around the room once, quickly, and landed softly beside the the wolf.
"Also, you never told me what you're doing here. I'm in charge right now, and I deserve to know. If ya don't tell me, I'm gonna call the cops." Charmy was beginning to feel suspicious about Cascade. First of all, the guy had a really weird ability, and Charmy didn't know how he was supposed to deal with it. Not only that, but Cascade obviously had no respect for the building. Nor did he have any respect for Charmy himself. That was definitely a bad sign, and the bee was ready to call up Espio and Vector for reinforcements if needed. He slowly slid his hand toward his vest pocket, where it would be closer to his walkie-talkie.

"That's no fun! Stop being a wuss," Cascade objected sharply, folding his arms and glaring up at Charmy. " 'Sides, that's none of your business! Go sniff flowers, bee-boy!"
Without warning, everything went pitch black. The hums of the machines stopped dead silent. the only sound was Cascade murmuring a low "oops," though he hadn't touched the controls. Everything flickered back on reluctantly, the sounds stuttering. Cascade was staring at the ceiling, arms still folded, cringing slightly.
"You...you don't want to know why I'm here anyway! Don't make him mad!"

Slightly insulted, Charmy stuck his lower lip out in a pout. A second later, though, it slid back into place and his eyes narrowed. He stuffed his hand in his pocket, squeezing the walkie-talkie, his thumb hovering millimeters above the 'talk' button.
"Make who mad?"
Charmy's large stinger began to quiver in adrenaline, and his left antenna twitched rapidly three times. This probably wasn't going to turn out very well, Charmy could feel it in his bones.

Cascade wasn't looking at him. He had a hand pressed to his head, eyes closed tight. And he was shaking just slightly. He had to run through the question a few times.
"M-Me. ...I think." A quiet gasp of pain and both hands were clutching his forward. The dog was panting, fast and sharp. "I-I don't know. Shut up!"
Another gasp and he was brought to his knees, letting out soft rapid moans. Between breaths he just kept repeating himself. "I don't know, I don't know. I don't know. Why, why. Don't know."
He sat awkwardly, crossing his legs, hunched with his head in his hands. His shaking stopped and the moans returned to pants.

At first, Charmy was scared. Then his fear morphed into confusion, followed by a certain amount of understanding. He stared at Cascade, speechless, for about a minute before clearing his throat a little.
"Um... Do you... Can you... Is there a voice?"
The bee wasn't sure how he should deal with Cascade, but if this went on, Charmy would have to get him out of the building, one way or another. Hopefully without the help of anyone else; he wouldn't want to get Espio or Vector angry at him for letting someone inside in the first place. But Charmy knew Cascade wasn't mentally sane, so it was most definitely better to shoo him out of the skyscraper ASAP.

Slowly, Cascade's shoulder's stopped moving up and down so fast with his breathing. He still clutched his head, ears back, running through Charmy's question again.
"No. No....just me," he said, massaging his temples. "Always been me. Never been the same, though. Hurts, sometimes."
Then he was just sitting there. No shaking, no panting. He wasn't tense. He took deeper breaths, starting to calm down. "He and me...he's not here. Never was here. But he changed me..."
His breaths were perhaps getting deeper than was possible for a kid with lungs his size. His voice was getting deeper, just a touch. "Heh...no. No, I think he is here. We...no. It's just me. Just different..."
And he was completely still. He stopped breathing, became stone for a moment. Only a moment. Then he laughed, sharply, taking his hands away. "I need to shut up." He looked wearily up at Charmy, and his eyes were the sharpest, most vibrant blue. They weren't glowing, but at that shade they might as well been. Absolutely iridescent blue.

Grimacing a little, Charmy swallowed hard. Cascade was genuinely freaking him out. He wasn't sure how what the wolf was telling him was possible in any way, but seeing as Cascade obviously wasn't normal, it had to work out one way or another. Still, it didn't make any sense to Charmy.
"I don't get it," he admitted, an expression of complete puzzlement painted on his face. His thumb was now touching the talk button on his walkie-talkie, ready to press it at any given moment. Meanwhile, he had to distract Cascade.
"What does it feel like? What's it like to be different, but not be?"

Those bright eyes narrowed for a moment. Cascade was smiling dreamily, staring around the room without really focusing on anything. Blink. And again. The look cleared, the smile fading into an open-mouthed stare. He finally focused on Charmy again, blinking slowly to clear his eyes and his thoughts and his words. "Huh? Oh...heh, no, no, no. No more questions. No more talking."
Had he stood up? He hadn't, but presently he was found to be standing. When had he stood. And had he always been that tall?
"You want to know, my friend? Let experience be your teacher." His voice was rumbling, just slightly. Fangs jutted out of his lips, though they hadn't been there before and they hadn't seemed to grow. They just were, as though they'd always been.
"You talk to much. Too loud. If you won't play my game, then...I'll make you. You need to have a little fun before you die, after all. Everyone needs just a little fun..."
And suddenly his face had morphed horribly. One eye was bigger than the other, muzzle jutting out, ears shrinking into his skull. He was definitely taller. Huge. His fur was gone, clawed and scaley hands jutting out of his ripping sleeves. The cat-pupil eyes locked on Charmy. Then, with a resounding crack, the rest of Cascade's body snapped into proportion. Morphed into something huge, something far too big for the room. The ceiling cracked, massive wings flapped awkwardly against the machines and rather effectively blocked the door. Blue scales had rippled over the massive body, a reptilian face grinning hungrily at the bee.
"Rather small in here, though," said a deep voice, rasping and hard to understand. "How 'bout we redecorate a little?"
