Steel grey clouds covered the darkened sky overhead the city of Soleanna. A loud crack was clearly hearable as a large bright bolt of lightening lit up the sky for only a second.
A small white hedgehog looked out towards the castle as rain fell from the dark sky, hiding in a small forest. His ears flattened as he lowered his green eyes in sadness. Terios's home was being invaded by Robotnik, and he couldn't do a thing about it...

He wasn't the only one watching. Nearby, a black hound with arms folded looked unhappily upon the castle, ears perked and lips pursed in silence. Rain poured upon Gyre even though he was under some protection from the trees. Water soaked his black hoodie and his pants, his fur, his hair. Everything. Even his ears felt clogged up. He let out a slow breath of the cold air, suppressing a shiver. He turned his head then, looking over at the hegehog he'd just barely noticed. How long had that been there? It was stupid to miss something like that!
But no harm done. The hedgehog didn't even seem to notice Gyre...
The hound approached slowly, calmly, making his presence known. "Hello," he said simply, pausing about five feet away.

Terios's flattened ears twitched, hearing a voice. He slowly turned his head to face the speaker, bottom lip trembling. The rain was pouring down on his head, soaking his black cloak and gloves, and basically everything else. He didn't want to answer the dog mobian, but he knew it would be rude not to say anything, so... "...Hello..." Terios mumbled, sniffling and he turned his head back to where it just was, only he stared at the ground instead of straight ahead.

"What's going on?"
Gyre spoke in a distant voice, as though he already knew. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But at any rate he asked. His voice didn't sound particularly sympathetic, but neither was it harsh. It just simply was--detached.
He raised his head to look back at the castle. "Something big I take it...right?" He was really just trying to keep Terios talking. Why he wasn't sure.

"Yeah... A scary man named Robotnik took over the castle..." Terios said, blinking away tears that were barely visable in the rain. He glanced back at Gyre, eyes wide and innocent. "It's my home, and I don't know what to do..." The hedgehog sat on the damp ground. He buried his head into his folded arms. "...Why does bad stuff always happen to me?" Terios asked himself. Alot of terrible things happened to him, actually. First, his step-sister died. Then, during his first time in the Soleanna Festival, Singe crashed the party, along with Dr. Eggman Nega. And now, Dr. Eggman is begining to rule over Soleanna. And who knows what will happen to Terios when that happens...

"Go home, kid." Gyre spoke sharply, cold. But reality was cold. "Unless that is your home... In which case I tell you to just leave, move on, let the rest of the world handle this one. Sometimes it's the best you can do."

"I guess so, but..." Terios paused, then looked up at the castle again. "What will happen to Elise and the others?" He asked, as another lightening bolt lit up the sky.
((Can I bring Singe into this? I'm gettin' braindead.... @__@))

((Yup!))
"Let 'em go, kid. Let the devil take whom he will and be grateful you weren't one of them." Gyre shook his head, ears going flat. "Well...I'm done with my preachin'. You do what's right by you. I'll be on my way." After all, what right did Gyre have to press his philosophies on others? If the kid wanted to do something let him try.

((W00t!!))
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" A voice interupted the silence. Terios gasped at the sound of the voice, then turned his head upward towards a nearby. Arms crossed, one leg dangling over the side of a branch, a dark red hedgehog sat in the tree, smirking deviously down at the two mobians. "Long time, no see, runt. Is that your new body-guard?" Singe said, one fang sticking out as he glanced from the white hedgehog to Gyre. He chuckled. "My my, this isn't a very happy scene, is it?"

Gyre looked up with one ear perked, the other, dropped down. He frowned unhappily--that was twice he'd missed someone. But he just shook his head to himself and walked out from under the hedgehog. "I don't do protecting people. I'm sort of hired for the opposite," he said bluntly, muttered it uncaringly. Whatever. He still needed to get back. Assuming there weren't any more he'd missed! Gyre silently cursed himself. "Leave the kid alone, he's had a hard night," he told Singe before turning around, ready to set off.

"Heh, he's had more hard nights before..." Singe muttered to himself, still staring at Gyre as he formed a small fireball on the tip of his index finger. The tree's leaves were thick, making the rain unable to reach the dark hedgehog. Terios whimpered softly, eyeing the blazing fire. "S-singe, why are you here?" He asked and he took a step back. The dark hedgehog turned his head towards Terios. "No specific reason. But since you're here, I suppose I could have a bit of fun." And with that, he fired the small flame towards the young hedgehog, the fire going fast in the air, the drops of rain too slow to even touch it. Terios screamed as the fireball burned through his cloak sleeve, scorching his arm.

Gyre had turned his head just slightly--and he whipped around to retaliate as soon as the fireball was sent. A jet of air struck for Singe's chest with enough force to fell an oak. Then Gyre pulled out a handgun from his belt, aiming it up. "I said leave him alone..."

The force made Since loose his balance and he fell off the branch and onto the ground on his back. His eyes grew wide as he saw the gun infront of his face. "Woah, woah, don't shoot!" The hedgehog stammered, a hand infront of him. "Th-there's a reason for all o' this!"

"I don't care." Gyre's eyes were hard, cold, detached. He cocked the gun and stepped forward a little more, til he was right over Singe. "You're messing with the wrong dog. I'm an assassin. More than that I'm a fell hound. I was bred for killing. And it's how I've made my livelihood. Why should I stop now for you?"

Sh*t.Singe's golden eyes were wide with pure fear, eyeing the mouth of the pistol, the golden bullet glistening inside... He didn't want to die, but what could he say to defend himself? Nothing that he knew of. But what about Kira? What would she think? Sure, he didn't tell her that he was a total bada** and that he deserved to be punished, but then again... "F-fine. Well what're you waiting for? Get it over with, you b*st*rd..." Singe growled, shutting his eyes as tight as he could, feeling the cold rain on his face. "Wait! Stop!" A young voice cried out, making Singe's eyes snap open in alarm. Terios was only a foot away. Tears streamed down his face, hidden by the rain. "D-don't kill him! I don't want anyone else to die bec-cause of m-me..." He sobbed, his ears folded back against his damp head. ((ZOMG RANDOM MOMENT: During this whole time posting, I was listening to this over and over and over again! XD ca.youtube.com/watch?v=FiNOr2uemH4))
