The fading light of the setting sun shone vaguely in through the western window. It was a modest house with a surprisingly kept yard. Every room was clean and everything kept in order so a wondering hand could find them. This was done by hired help, though Jaq was reluctant to have anything of the kind, hence they came only once a week.
The gray wolf sat on the edge of his recliner, sightless eyes gazing at the open window. He could feel the sun's warmth, fading how night was coming on.
So dad had died, huh? Why did no one ever bother to tell him these things? Uncle Louis had come over the other day with Jaq's single demand for inheritance, though some money had come with it too. But the wolf hadn't been told until after the funeral, big surprise. It was like all his relatives had forgotten him save to keep him upright so as to not mar their own names. In many ways, Jaq would have preferred to forget them too. But his father dying? That's something he'd liked to have known about. He let out a frustrated sigh and pressed one hand to his eyes, across the thin scar that ran over them, that had blinded them.
A small squawk came from next to him and Jaq's ears perked up a little. Next to the wolf, curled up on the arm of the recliner, was an unusual and small dragon-like creature. About as big as an iguana, its batwings stretched a little as it let out a bored yawn. Jaq smirked and gave his odd pet a pat on the head, at the same time opening the book in his lap.
"Let's see what daddy left us, shall we?" As the pages flipped open, the fading yellow light was suddenly joined with ghostly blue, radiant blue. Shimmering blue runes of light lifted off the pages from where their physical form lay in ink. Jaq pulled it up closer to him a little, gently running his hand over each rune. And as he did so he just...understood. Somehow.

A black limo pulled up in front of the building, directly in front. A tall nine-tailed vixen stepped out of the veichle, and walked up to the door. She looked from side to side, this was definately the place. She knocked lightly on the door, but somehow it echoed throghout the entire building, one two... three knocks...
Lanza looked back and made a motion for the limo driver to wait, you know, just incase no one was home? Through, it was unlikely she'd leave if there wasn't anyone here.

Jaq's ears perked up first, then his head followed, turning towards the door in mild surprise. He didn't get a whole lot of company. He hung out with friends a lot, but they always called first. Always.
He got up lethargically, stretching one arm behind his back. No need to rush. He slipped the book under the recliner and walked towards the hall, one hand feeling loosely along one wall for guidance until he stopped and opened the door.
" 'Allo," he said casually, wondering if it was salesmen.

"Hello." Lanza said softly, immediantly seeing that he was blind. So she decided to be careful not to offend him about it. "Are you the owner of this home?" She asked, she kenw about the death of Jaq's father, but she just wanted to check a few things... A few very important things...
She looked back at the limo and nodded, the driver turned the keys and started the engine. Then drove off, he'd be back to pick her up later on.

Jaq leaned around her a little as though to watch the car drive off, but really it was just his ears following it. "Huh? Oh, ah..yea, I am," he said, lifting his head again towards the woman. She had a rather high-born accent, pronunciating every word. It reminded Jaq of his cousins and his aunts and mom when she'd been around and all the women who had been at every meeting he'd either had to fight to attend or unfortunately been dragged into.
And that reminded him. A little color came to his cheeks as he realized how he must look, scrawny, torn jeans and a T-shirt, no shoes, and hair messy under his red and black checkered velvet hat. He self-consciously slid on his sunglasses before speaking again. "Who are you?"

"I'm a friend of your father's, from the Sky Millitary Computer Company... Is it? Is it okay if I come in?" She ignored his clothing, she didn't care much for how peopled dressed. I mean, look at her clothes! Sure it was something sort of traditional thing, but it was more like a bathing suit with extra parts.

Though Jaq honestly had no way of knowing. He just shrugged and opened the door wide for her, turning back into the house. As he went, something huge and black and green landed on his shoulder. Not a bat, but that young dragon. It let out a distasteful hiss at the fox as she entered, dislike emanating from every scale
"Heh, don't mind him. Come in, come in. Here, have a seat." He fumbled around to find what seat he was actually talking about but he managed to find the chair at the kitchen table at last and pull it out for her. "What's this about?"

She sat down in the chair and looked over the Dragon creature, she smiled but ignored it. "Thanks..." She looked around once more before speaking.
"It's about a few items of your dads, and sometihng we breifly talked about..." She blinked and stared at him softly, she honestly cared alot for people, especially those who had disabilites... She would even treat a homeless kid as her own child if she felt like it, those motherly insticts kicked in alot for her.
"One of them was an old book, and the thing we discussed... Was a possible cure for blindness..."

Jaq found the other seat and next to it the long staff he used to find his way around, putting a hand around the polished knotted wood. At Lanza's next words he was silent, one ear flattening and the other perking up a little. Jaq could never explain why he felt such strong resentment whenever the topic of fixing his blindess was brought up. He never had a problem with talking about it. And most would be relieved to have something like this fixed. But it seemed to hint that...that there was something wrong with Jaq, that he wasn't good enough to get along in the world without two perfectly good eyes. What hurt more was that it was true. He couldn't do half the things others could, though he kept right on trying.
The wolf finally just clasped his hands on top of the table, giving a very sly smirk. "Yea...heheh. It's called a cornea transplant. I already turned him down on that, didn't he tell you? It's not as though I can't afford it. Just getting a right match is hard and I feel it should be given to somebody else." Someone who needs it.
He gave her that innocent grin again, ignoring the first part, about the book. It was an object of fascination for everyone and Jaq had to put up a lot of fight to get his paws on it at last. He'd really rather not bring it into the conversation...

"Oh, yeah. He did tell me, but this isn't a Cornea transplant I'm talking about. It's a special thing, that can allow the blind eyes to see." She sighed, feeling like if she had offended him which she probably had. Lanza stood up and walking beside him, her tails softly moving near his back, atleast three of them brushing againest him. She shook her head. "I'm not trying to say anything bad, I'm not trying to say that you have something wrong with you... But, wouldn't you like to see what the world looks like? What people look like?" She whispered softly into his ear, she was being etremely nice now, plus there was this heavenly vibe of energy being given off from her, and that wasn't normal. Normally, it was an evil demonic vibe that her body gave off... But not now...

Jaq tensed as he felt her tails brush against him, more so because it took him a second to realize what it was, that this was a mutated fox like that Tails on TV. "Uh..." Blood rushed to his face as he flushed, then pulled his head just slightly away from her muzzle that was whispering in his sensitive ears. His thoughts swam and he had to struggle to keep them here, pulling away from her a little. "But I know what the world looks like. I can tell you're a kitsune, though I didn't think there were many left. I know what the world looks like...I only lost my sight when I was nine."
He shook his head. "Look...why are you telling me anyways? Why do you care? This another way to make millions?" He knew her company was famous.

"I don't care about the money..." She said, after all where she came from money wasn't very important anyway. She sighed, he wouldn't understand would he? She wasn't after money, she didn't care for it. "Money is just an item we use for trade... It's worthless... Besides, the world is different now... and what blind person wouldn't want to see again? The reason I'm asking you, is becuase your special..."

If she ads "ed." on the end of that I'm gonna hit her, woman or not.
But for now he just let out a hollow laugh, turning around in the chair and straddling it so he could face her. "Special? How so? What makes me any different from any other blind man off the street? And if this has anything to do with my heritage you can forget it." As in if she was just picking him because of his relatives.
"I mean...what's in it for you?"

"It has nothing to do with your heirtage..." She smiled, this was going to be hard, wasn't it? If only she could make him understand, then maybe... She thought for a moment and realised there wouldn't be anything in it for her anyway, so it didn't matter.
"There's nothing in it for me, I don't want money or items... And I already have famliy..." Time to give him a little test... Her tails brushed up againest him again, even through that didn't always seem like the best idea. A wide grin came accross her face. "Your special because of certain traits... Your have a special place in this world... and it would be better for you and whats coming next if you could see again..."

Jaq pulled back abruptly from the tails. And people think I'm a freak?
Now with his back pressed against the edge of the table he lifted his head a bit higher and scowled. Jaq was a very good-natured guy, and to say he disliked this woman would be a wrong assumption, but she was starting to irritate him just slightly.
"Traits? What traits? I can speak three languages, I can recite the entire college curriculum for law, and I can somehow still find my way around the city and not be run over. But I hardly call those traits worthy of interest." He took a deep breath and leaned forward again, resting his arms on the top of the chair and his chin on them. That odd smirk came back. "So what are we talking about? Exactly? And um...I don't think I caught your name."
