"I won't be long," Southguard muttered, not coming into the house on invitation (or grudging invitation). "I just need to ask a few questions... Is your husband home? Or...is he your husband? I never heard the end of that whole thing."

Relka gestured in the direction of the kitchen. "He's here, just got here..." She sighed, atleast he had something to do with Pyran and not her, but that still could be a bad thing. As along as no big fights started up, everything would be okay.
"What do you want with him?"

"Well, I borrowed this..." November held out a black scabbard, an unadorned black hilt sticking up. Pyran's sword. "Confiscated by Westopolis police. Thought I should give it back. And I need to give him a message. Just tell him, I don't think it's really dead. He'll know what I mean. Or he'll figure it out eventually." He held out the sword to Relka, hilt first.
"That's it really. Except...I was wondering... Has anything unusual been happening around here?" Casual enough. Not that it was any of his business.

"I'll give it to him..." She took the sword from November slowly, and carefully. "Along with the message..." When it came to the last question, she looked up, now that she wasn't sure about, lots of weird things had been happening, but it was normal for them to happen... So there wasn't really an answer. "No, there hasn't been anything like that."

November shrugged. "Our instruments just keep sensing spikes in the time barrier. Whatever causes it, though, is always gone before we get there. Not that it really has anything to do with you, I'm sure. Just..." He trailed off and shrugged. Best not to show all his cards just yet. But he suspected it had a lot to do with Relka. Or those around her. "Take care." He turned and left.
As soon as he reached the sidewalk, Pyran hissed by Relka's ear. "What'd he want?"

"See ya..." Relka shut the door and held the sword out him. "He gave me this... The police had it, oh... and something about... [/i]'it's not dead'[/i] whatever that means..."[/b] She sighed, locking the door with the other hand. "Your probably going to end up getting involved in something."

Pyran frowned at the sword, ears flat, holding it in both hands. That wasn't his scabbard... He shrugged and tied it to his belt. "No. No, I'm not. That lizard-dog can go chew on something. I'm sick of...of doing crap, you know?"
He sighed, shaking his head. "I think I know what he meant...maybe. No, I don't have to go anywhere." Though it hardly makes me any more comfortable...
He jerked his head up and forced something reminiscent of a smile. "Forget about it. Can I go see my daughter now?"

Relka smiled, she didn't force it this time, she was glad he didn't have to go anywhere, but it would probably happen later on, something big would happen and he'd get involved. She knew it, because, that's what always happened with him. "Sure, you'll have to be very quiet if you plan on waking her up, I'm pretty sure she'll be quiet most of the time, watching you..."

Pyran smiled for real this time and shook his head. Typical over-anxious mother. "You know, ever since I met you I seriously couldn't picture you with a kid." He knew it was presumptuous, and part of him was expecting to get smacked, but he reached out an arm to put around her shoulders before heading up the stairs.

Relka stepped back. "Go see her, I'll deal with you later." Her smile widened and she turned and walked away, opening a door, turning a light on and heading down the stairs into the basement, leaving Pyran to go see his daughter upstairs.
Outside the house, across the street, a car pulled up in front of the houses opposite and stopped, no one got out, and there appeared to be no movement. But you wouldn't be able to tell, anyway, with the tinted windows. But whoever was inside was watching the home, very very carefully.

Pyran frowned, not quite sure what to make of that. Whatever...
He shook a shiver off before it could make its way down his spine, hiking up the stairs two at a time.
A few second later, he stood at the side of Hikari's crib. He rested his folded arms on the sidebars and leaned forward, smiling faintly. He hesitated, a small part of him hating to wake her up, another part anxious. "Hikari..." he cooed, chin resting on his arms.

Little bright green eyes opened slowly, and looked up at Pyran, staring, there was no sound from her, none at all, just silence as she looked up at her father and reached out for him. "Daddy..." Obviously, since Pyran had been gone, she already started learning how to talk, too bad he didn't know that what she just said, had been her very first word when she started, just after he had gotten taken to prison.

Pyran reached down, his huge hand closing around her tiny paw. He was gasping a smile, eyes wet. "Yea...yea, it's me." He leaned down, pressing his muzzle against her, hugging her. "Sorry. I'm so sorry, Hikari. I won't leave you again. I promise..." Swore to himself. No kid deserves a rotten father. Too many people got messed up thanks to their family. Pyran wouldn't be a part of that.
"Look at you. You've gotten huge! Look at your ears..." He touched one, smirking. "You'll grow into 'em, don't worry. You'll be a beautiful big girl." He pulled himself back up, but still leaned over the crib, grinning.

Hikari laughed when he got close, smiling, grinning all kinds of things that a little toddler would do, she seemed very happy, just to be around Pyran, even if he wasn't her real father, but it didn't matter. Because to her, right now, he was her real father, and it didn't matter as long as he was around.
"I luv you."

"Holy..." Pyran just about broke down. "Relka! Relka, come up here!" he shouted, grinning wide. He didn't care that she was ripping the fur off his fingers right now, he just felt joy rip through his chest.
"I love you too, sweetheart," he remembered to say. He meant it through and through. His free hand found a bear by her pillow. Kids liked this stuff, right? He didn't know what to do with kids... "What's his name?" he asked.
