Streetlamps and headlights lit up an empty street. A few glowing windows, like eyes, peered from the houses. The moon and stars filtered between a tattered cloud curtain, looking down on the world.
It was maybe an hour 'til midnight--the city was just waking up. But here all was quiet and empty, save perhaps the occasional jogger or stray dog.
One such dog suddenly howled and barked and whined, ripping into the silence with urgency. Someone came out and dragged the dumb animal inside, not noticing the shadow slipping through the yard, or soft clinks of metal and a ragged draw of breath.
A small house on the corner was silent like the rest, winding down for the night. This was the house of Relka, her child, and, sometimes, her husband. Pyran wasn't home tonight, surprise surprise, but he always turned up sooner or later. Usually he was the shadow slipping through the yards. Not tonight. This was something else.

Relka was in the basement, in a small room, there were guns lined up on the wall, shotguns, machine guns, assault rifles... Even a Sniper Rifle, all unloaded, the bullets in cases in a few boxes on the floor.
A double barreled shotgun was placed back on the rack, noises being made up on the stairs as the dark windowless basement went pitch black. The gray she-cat came up into the first floor, dark, lights off, curtains closed, but yet, you could see through them towards the outside, but you couldn't see in... Too dark.
"Silence..."

It was cold...it was just past August, and it felt cold. The shadow shivered, inched along further. There were lights outside, moving through the yard. There could be no doubt about it.
The moonlight struck through its curtain and lit on a definite figure. Tall, but hunched up, inching along, patches of its fur glowing neon. And two bright neon-green eyes watching the house. It was hard to see in the darkness, but there was a series of blades behind it, perhaps part of it. Whatever it was, it couldn't be good.
It stood up, not approaching the house, fortunately. Just waiting.

Relka walked through the kitchen, accidentally knocking over a cup, which shattered against the floor, it wasn't important really, could easily be replaced... Nothing was really special here, through there was a few things, but they were locked away in the basement.
She walked over to the door, opened it slowly and walked outside, shutting the door behind her quickly but quietly, she liked the silence, it felt nice...

((Relka didn't notice? I thought the curtains were see-through... >> Okay! Cue evil weirdo time.))
She nearly walked right into it.
A snarl ripped out, and a hand shot forward for a grab. Even if it missed, there was a problem--the arm sported three long blades sticking right out of the skin, curved to catch on flesh. It happened fast, the eyes mindless, senseless, and angry.

Relka wasn't used to fighting anymore, she'd gotten out of it, gotten out of robbing banks and killing people, but this, if she was going to fight, she didn't want to do it here, but right know there was no choice.
She had a defense of her own, a blade, it blocked the three as she brought it up, the long sharp metal blade coming from her sleeve, but blood still dripped onto the ground from her arm. "What the h*ll...?"
((Maybe she saw... Maybe? ^_^))

The blades caught on hers, the creature forcing against her, snarling. A wild light in the eyes, and all around it smelled like rust, old blood. A ragged breath, the arm pressed against hers shook.
But another hand was immediately raised, this one unspiked, punching hard at her face at the same time he shoved forward to throw her off balance.

Relka jumped back quickly, there wasn't much space, just the wall of the house... Real smart, back up against a wall. "What the heck are you?!" She doubted there was any real point in asking, for all she knew it couldn't understand speech, but then again it was hard to tell what it was... If only she had help... Cyan... Pyran... Anyone would do!
She still had weapons of her own of course, a gun, built in, she raised her arm quickly and fired.

It flinched, head ripping away, staggering backwards. A hand was clutched to the face, blood dripping down one side. It was as black as ink in the darkness, dripping off the chin. Those glowing eyes glared at her resentfully as if to say "Why the hell did you do that?"
But it didn't speak. It came right back in with another slice of its left arm's blades for her own arm, the one with the gun.
((Heh, it's been too long since Relka's used her little weapons. I almost forgot she had them all built in there.))

Relka moved, fast, she may have had her back against the wall but she still had room to move. She went off to her right, jumping again and landing softly, pressing a little button on her waist, a special type of alarm. She'd given them out to people she knew, just incase Sky Corp, or what was left of it, tried anything, and it would alert everyone else who had one... But that wasn't going to help her right here, right now.
"Dammit... I need to get you away from..." Hikari... and the house... She couldn't use missiles here, there were homes around, and she wasn't willing to risk other lives, not yet... "If you want me catch me..." She spun around, shooting at a wooden fence blocking the next yard, and then crashing through it... Not a good plan, she dropped to the ground, holding her shoulder... Bleeding in the next yard.

It charged right after her, blood dripping down its neck now. It kept hot on her heels, jumping over the splintered wood and practically right on top of her. Right over her. Foot brought up, it kicked at her gut--the paw metal under patched fur, heavier than it should be.
It just kept coming. Meant business.

"Agh!" It hurt, she had metal skin underneath her own, but after all this time, after all this fighting, certain parts could only take so more, so much more damage from being hit. She angled her arm slightly and fired her gun again, just to get it away from her, she had too.
Why her? Why did she have to be attacked after all this time? She'd been safe since she'd gotten pregnant, she'd been involved in alot of stuff, but she'd never gotten in a fight or a battle the entire time, it'd been so long since then and she'd gotten used to the peace, gotten used to trying to live a normal life with Hikari... But... This? Why now of all times?
"Stay the h*ll away from me!"

The shot was wide, a clear miss. The thing hardly flinched. It pulled that spiked arm back again and it lunched down, turning his arm to send those spikes right into her face.
And at that exact moment, metal screeched. A flash of light off clean metal and something slammed right into the beast. Both creature and whatever-it-was smashed into the remains of the fence, sending it to the ground.
There was a wild, feral yowl, met by a deeper snarl. Bodies rolled, more metal screeching as blades were shoved against them.
Another shot--not from Relka's gun--and suddenly the masses held still.
The moon was hiding again, but both figures were bathed in light--the dim light of the beast's glowing fur and it's enemy's single mechanical red eye. Cyan... Cyan was on top of it, the barrel of a gun pressed into the creature's face. It had stopped moving, but both were breathing heavily, gasping.
"Good hell...." Cyan muttered, taking another deep breath.

"I didn't think anyone would come..." Relka was shaking, breathing very slowly, she'd almost died right there, it would've been all over, but unlike the usual stuff, she didn't see her life flash before her eyes... That thing, needed to... Ether die or leave... It shouldn't be here, whatever it was.
She pushed herself up, blades extending from her sleeves, ready if needed, one had blood on it, through it was probably hers. "Kill it..."

Cyan's laughter suddenly rang through the air, clear but slightly hysterical. "Oh, I would. But..." Small lights lit along her metal parts, lighting up the two figures more clearly. The other animal--no, it was a person, just a mad one--was sprawled awkwardly on its side. It was forced that way by four more spikes sticking out of its back from its spine. The skin was pulled back from the spine a little, the spikes screwed crudely into the vertebrae. But that wasn't what Cyan was trying to show.
His left arm was underneath her, and Cyan was arched awkwardly to avoid the three spikes there from slicing up into her gut.
"I could be wrong, but...I don't think it wants me to get away with murder...unless it gets to do the same." Cyan flashed a grin, looking up at Relka. There was a chance that if she shot into his brains he wouldn't have any sense left to slam the blades up in time, but Cyan didn't really want to risk it.
"Dare I ask what you did to make this happen? I don't suppose your dear new husband has anything to do with it?"
