"Experts are saying the economy is on the rise. Employment rates have increased over the past two months and, while it's not a guarantee of recovery, it is reason to hope." The TV above the counter buzzed and rumbled about yesterday's news and tomorrow's might-be's.
The little bell above the door rang. A white hedgehog stepped inside, decked in blue attire that looked like it belonged anywhere but in a sea-side city in the middle of summer.
"Hey, Rick. Got my order?" He stepped up to the counter, leaning his arms against it and peering up at the clerk--a wiry rat that looked like he'd been in a concentration camp for the past year. Or been a drug addict. It took the rat a while to switch his attention on him. Instead of responding, he disappeared into the back.
The hedgehog raised a brow, rolling his shoulders to hide a slight shiver. Ulllggh, he hated this city.
"Up next, minor flooding in Mobotropolis and how citizens are dealing with the problem. And, streakers at the Silver League semi-final soccer match. Find out what security has to say on it and why the streakers have not been caught."
Looks like the rat was going to be a while. The hedgehog steered away from the counter, heading for the back and the drinks.
