Emiko's eyes glinted dangerously. "Really? What is it called?" Hirosuke grunted through a mouthful of potatoes. "The chances it's Hikari work are slim to none, Mom. Don't worry about it." Kosuke chuckled. "What does Dark have to say about it?" Hirosuke smirked. "Dark's asleep. He's got nothing."
Not anymore. Emiko is cooking. C'mon, let me out, I wanna eat, too!
Hirosuke sighed, then began thinking about Risa. In a matter of moments, he had all manner of romantic situations playing out in his head. It only took a few seconds for Dark to suddenly be there. "Haha, all right! Food time!"
((I'm thinking of giving Dark a special text, like he has in the manga. I'll be playing around with different fonts for a bit untill I find one I like.))
"Dragon's Heart." Jiz replied. "It's a ruby carved to resemble what people believe a dragon's heart looks like." Larx clapped when Dark appeared. "Welcome back!" he cheered. Jiz sighed, then continued to eat.
Larx nodded. "Do you think you could teach Jiz how to cook?" He asked Emiko. *Thwack!* "Owww......" Larx rubbed his head. "Very funny." His brother told him. "But I wasn't joking." Larx replied. Jiz rolled his eyes.
The entire Niwa family started laughing. Everyone except Dark, that is, who was busy eating. Emiko began thinking of trying to lift the artwork from Jiz, but thought better of it. Whatever the name was, it wasn't Hikari work.
Kosuke simply snickered and said, "I live with her, and I've been studying. No one can cook like she can, no matter how hard you try. It's just physically impossible."
Dark finally managed to get a word in around his food. "But if you wanna try, good luck, kid! Hahaha!" This may have sounded slightly odd, as the Phantom Thief looked around 19 years old, but he was easily over five hundred.
Larx laughed too. "I wasn't implying that Jiz could ever cook as well as Emiko, but maybe she could teach him how to actually cook." Jiz attempted to jump on his brother, but Larx was quicker in getting out of the chair. "I mean, when we're not eating out, it's either soup or burnt mush." "LARX!!" Jiz yelled, jumping at his brother again. This time, he got him, and the two began to wrestle again, Jiz loosing his cool for once and yelling at Larz to take back what he had said.
Hirosuke sweatdropped again, and said, The two of them are worse than the whole of the Niwa's....
Dark nodded. Agreed. And you guys could make any family look normal.
If I could hit you...
I'd kick your *ss.
Hirosuke sighed. Yeah.
Emiko smiled sweetly and said, "No fighting in the house." She pressed a button under the table, and a bucket of water was dumped over the wrestling pair. "Save it for later, you two." She, Dark, and Kosuke continued eating as though nothing had happened.
The twins both yowled in surprise and jumped off each other, dripping wet. Larx started shivering, and looked over at Emiko. "Are the traps by the door disabled yet?" He asked, resisting the urge to shake. Jiz mearly sat and waited, glaring at his brother. "You're going to get it once we get home." He told Larx.
Emiko nodded. "Are you sure you're not hungry anymore? Eaten all you want?" There was still a little left on the table, and Dark was definitely finished. He leaned back, put his feet on the table, and started picking his teeth with a toothpick he got from somewhere beyond human comprehension. Kosuke nodded, excused himself, and walked by Dark. Dark shot out an arm and caught Kosuke's. "D*mn, still can't pick you, huh?"
Dark snickered. "Like it's even possible...."
Kosuke held up another hand, containing Daisuke's wallet. "Misdirection, Dark. Your specialty."
"I'm still hungry." Larx replied. "I just don't want to get water all over the place." His whole body shivered as he resisted the urge to shake and send the water flying. "I'll be right back." With that, he was out the door and shaking the water off. Jiz waited until Larx was done, then went out as Larx came back in, doing the same. When Jiz came back in, Larx was in his seat, cracking up like a hyena at Dark's reaction to the pocket-picking. "Did I miss something here?" Jiz asked.
Kosuke fox-faced back at Larx. "Yeap. Picked the little freak."
Dark kipped up over the chair and grabbed Kosuke's shirt, making it obvious that he was taller. "Who's little, you son of a-"
Kosuke, still fox-facing, tapped Dark's face with the wallet. "This is yours. Here."
Dark knew that, at this point, Kosuke had won. He decided to admit it gracefully instead of whining like a brat and shoved him, then walked off. Maybe Kosuke hadn't won. He hadn't noticed Dark take the wallet back, as well as Kosuke's.
Kosuke nodded. "I'm counting on you, Dark. Don't suck."
Jiz couldn't help but chuckle at what had happened. "I guess even great Phantom Thieves have their off-moments, huh Dark?" This set of Larx's laughter once more. He fell out of the chair and onto the ground, clutching his stomach. Jiz rolled his eyes at his brother, and got back into his chair to finish his food.
Dark snickereed. "I bet Kosuke doesn't know I'm wearing his belt, his wedding ring, and his necklace."
Kosuke's eyes bugged. "Wha-wha-wha!" He patted his waist-no belt, then his hand-no ring, then his chest-no necklace.
"And his wallet, too."
Kosuke patted his pocket, then suddenly realized that Hirosuke's wallet was gone, too. "D********mn...."
Dark snickered. "That's what happens, kiddo. Don't mess with the best. Oh, Jiz." He held up the Dragon's Heart. "Don't laugh." Setting the dragon's heart on a small pedestal, Dark continued out of the room and up the stairs, snickering.
Emiko's face didn't change at all. "That's my boy!"
Jiz's eyes went wide when he saw the Dragon's Heart, and quickly went to retrieve it. Larx started laughing even harder at the looks on Kousuke's and Jiz's faces. Several times he attempted to stop, but images of what had happened had been burned into his memory. He rolled back and forth on the ground, clutching his stomach. Jiz resisted the urge to hit him again, and sat down once more to finish his food. However, when he looked down at his plate, he saw that it was empty. Larx managed to control his laughter long enough to let out a small burp. His part of the food on his plate was gone as well.
Emiko nodded. "Well then, that's that! Who wants some dessert?"
Hirosuke appeared around the doorway into the next room. "Are you serious? Does anyone actually have that kind of room?"
Emiko giggled. Positively odd. Dispite her age, it made her seem like a schoolgirl. "Hirosuke, not everyone has two people eating a full meal on one stomach."
That's true. Theoretically, if you didn't eat, I'd be able to eat about twice as much. Glutton. When you're mom's cooking, is that really a sin? .... Yeah, I know.
Hirosuke walked away, shaking his head.
Kosuke sat back down, and Daiki, Hirosuke's grandfather, returned to the room and sat as well. Kosuke spoke to the guests. "Feel free to decline; I get your share if you do." He promptly dodged a fork from Emiko as a woman before unseen emerged from the kitchen. "Key lime PIIIEEEEE!" She placed it on the table with a bit more force than was necessary as she greeted the twins enthusiastically. "Hi there! I'm the Towa no Shuribe, but you can call me To-to!"
Kosuke nodded. "The Guide to Eternity. Wonderful work of art. We had to do a little restoration. Would you believe that she was neglected for years on some lighthouse?"
To-to nodded. "Not a polish nor a sanding, I might add!" She then looked back over at the twins. "I like it much better here." She then turned and left.
Daiki nodded sagely. "Pretty mobile for a statue." A ladle flew from the kitchen and busted him across the face.
