Larx sat doen at the table, seemingly through with his laughing streak, just in time to bust out laughing at Daiki getting hit in the face with the ladle. "We'd love to stay for dessert." Jiz told Emiko. "By the way, when you were asking about what we stole, Hirosuke mentioned something about it not being a Hikari work. What did he mean by that?"
Daiki caught the ladle off the rebound and tossed it back towards the kitchen. "I deserved that."
Emiko nodded at Jiz, her face becoming a bit more serious. "The Hikari's were the ones who created Dark. By conincidence, they created Krad, as well." She said the name of Krad with some anger. "The Niwa's have been stealing from the Hikari's for hundreds of years. Over five hundred. One day, a Niwa tried to steal a work of art while it was being made: the Exhalted Black Wings. Something went wrong, and it split into two. The Niwa boy was struck with half, and a Hikari boy with the other half, and immediately, there were Dark and Krad. Ever since, Krad has been trying to kill Dark to take over the Hikari body he's using. Dark is trying to find the shell of the artwork so that he can seal himself and Krad, returning to blissful incognizence."
Kosuke smirked. "She's long winded, but I love her anyway." Larx's plate met his head quite violently. Emiko smiled sweetly, then said, "Miss To-To, we need a new plate. My husband seems to magnetically attract dangerous things...."
"Sounds like lots of fun." Jiz commented. "So that's who that guy was..." Larx began cracking up when Kousuke got smacked with the plate. "You guys are hilarious!" He said though laughs. "It makes me wish that Jiz and I were born in this family." Jiz nodded at that. "It would have been something else, that's for sure."
Kosuke, completely unphazed by the blunt force trauma, smirked. "You'd still be stealing. And, depending on how old you are.... Hey, what about twins? Which one would become Dark if they're both the first son?" Emiko blinked, then but down the eating utensil she was about to hit him with. "Good question, we'd have to ask Dark. Or, hey, maybe he wouldn't know. I'll have to check the family records to see if it has ever happened!" Emiko scurried off.
Daiki thought. "Nope, not that I remember." He took a slice of pie, then passed the thing to Jiz.
"Even in twins, there's a first born." Jiz replied as he took a slice of pie. "I'm the older one by a few minutes." Larx nodded as he took the pie from his brother. "For twins that are completely related, it's impossible. If they're half related, then it's just highly unlikely."
Daiki noded over a bite of pie. "Makes sense. Too bad my daughter can hardly see any." Kosuke snickered. "What's more fun than dissing family?" He turned to Larx and Jiz. "Surely, you two sometimes play at insulting one another. It's what families do."
Meanwhile, Hirosuke was sleeping. He had forgotten about the Saint of Tears, and so had his mother, for a wonder.
Speaking of, his mother ran back into the dining room, shouting, "There was! It happened! It was the brother who was two minutes older!" She then looked at the faces of her unsurprized family. "Oh. You already knew. Okay. So! Who hasn't had pie yet?"
"Yeah." Larx replied, taking some pie. "It's done a lot when Jiz is doing the cooking." Thunk! "Oww..." Larx rubbed his head with one paw as he passed the pie to Kousuke. "Of course," Jiz continued. "Larx, being the loveable dummy he is, never learns to stop." Larx snickered. "That's because I'm your younger brother, and it's in my contract."
Daiki nodded as he excused himself again. "True, true."
Kosuke accepted the remaining four slices of pie and claimed them all for himself. He raised the pie just in time to catch a fork whipped at him by Emiko, and with an enthusiastic, "Thank you, dear," he set to work. He was done with all four slices in a Niwa record time. "What can I say? I like pie." He also excused himself.
Emiko nodded. "Well, I'll not keep you any longer than need be. You have a comission to fulfill, don't you?" She was referring to the Dragon Heart. She didn't want them screwing the delivery up.
"Not till tomarrow." Jiz replied. "But we don't want to be any more of a bother to you." Larx nodded, then remembered something. "Oh! Did Hirosuke ever get you that thing that Dark was stealing earlier?"
Emiko blinked, then shot out of her chair and upstairs so fast that she was a blue, severely ruffling the fur on the twins.
Wiz calmly flew up to Larx's head and fell asleep.
To-To walked out of the kitchen. "If you're leaving, I'll fix you two li'l cuties a little something for breakfast tomorrow that you can eat on the road. What'll it be?" She leaned on the table and looked at the two, awaiting an answer, then noticed Wiz and giggled.
"Omlettes!" The both of them exclaimed. "Mushrooms and swiss in mine!" Larx told To-To. "Red peppers and ham for me, please." Jiz looked up at Wiz, and snickered at his brother, who was trying not to move so as not to disturb Wiz.
To-To nodded and winked cutely. "Omelettes it is. So, are you leaving now, or are you staying the night?" She continued her lean, and wondered if the two could guess how old she was. She was fighting the giggles, mainly because they thought that she was in her twenties. She was a hundred fourteen. Oh, she had to know.
Jiz snickered again. "Unless Larx finds a way to get his new friend off so he could move again, we might end up spending the night." Larx smiled, but it's really up to Mrs. Niwa." At To-To's question, LArx and Jiz both thought for a moment, then replied simoultaniously "Nineteen."
To-To laughed. "Was that rehearsed, you flatterers, or can you not tell that I'm in my hundreds?" The Guide to Eternity tittered and danced back to the kitchen, and Wiz shifted in his sleep and fell off Larx's head and into his lap without waking up.
Emiko appeared from the upper stairway, then disappeared down the other with the artwork. Upon return, Emiko smiled at the boys in much the same way To-To did. "So, would you like to stay the night? Honor among thieves and all that."
